JAAGO Foundation Trust is a non-profit development organization with a mission to eradicate poverty in Bangladesh through education and positive change. JAAGO focuses on various sectors, including education, youth development, women empowerment, climate change, and governance. JAAGO provides free, high-quality education to children through conventional and digital schooling programs, serving 4500 students currently. Our Youth Development Program empowers 50,000 young citizens with skills and resources for national development. JAAGO addresses challenges faced by women and girls, offering alternative learning opportunities in underrepresented communities. JAAGO actively collaborates with local communities, women, youth, and marginalized groups to develop climate resilience and sustainable livelihood options. JAAGO promotes civic education to enhance youth civic participation, collective action, and leadership for effective societal change.
Position Summary
The Senior Officer position in the Project Implementation Team (PIT) at JAAGO Foundation Trust is a crucial role responsible for overseeing various stages of project management, from planning through implementation to networking for future opportunities. This full-time position involves a thorough review and realistic alignment of project proposals, budgets, and key performance indicators to ensure measurable, reportable, and verifiable outcomes. The Sr. Officer will work closely with staff across departments to ensure effective project execution, monitor financial mobilization, and maintain partnerships. Additionally, the role includes significant networking responsibilities, requiring travel to various districts to engage with local stakeholders and donors to secure future funding.
Job Responsibilities
I. Project Implementation Management (70%)
- Work with the concerned staff and projects/departments to ensure effective implementation of the project.
- Regularly reviewing and tracking the project progress against milestones and taking corrective action were required, raising issues with the concerned personnel as needed.
- Monitoring tasks related to mobilizing finance, including setting up mechanisms to track investments and collecting data and information
- Promote and maintain effective partnerships with partners.
- Ensure efficient project management procedures are implemented to enable monitoring of projects and accurate reporting of progress.
- Compile all the required data and documents related to the project.
- Ensure procurement and contracts are prepared and issued to JAAGO’s standards and procedures/in-country legal frameworks/funder requirements and are managed effectively.
- Financial and budget control of selected tasks and components and coordinating with the JAAGO Finance Manager regarding budget control and financial progress;
- Support the collection and accurate reporting of impact data related to the project as guided by the M&E Manager.
II. Networking (25%)
- Travelling to various districts to communicate, train and build rapport with local stakeholders
- Build and maintain good relationships with donors by attending different donor meetings, seminars and conferences;
- Collaborate, cooperate and communicate with participants and beneficiaries of the projects at regular interval.
- Follow up with donors after attending meetings;
- Continue liaison with donors for future funding opportunities;
- Scope funding opportunities that arise out of networking with donors.
IV. Others (5%)
- Contribute to developing and updating organizational documents
- Assign work and manage the performance of the team’s interns;
- Keep the organizational software updated on the current and future work in hand
- Complete administrative tasks of the team.
- Maintain all the login credentials of various fundraising portals and donor sites
- Ensure renewal of key donor portal registration
- Assist different departments of the organization when necessary.
- Attend other requests and projects as assigned by the Project Focal.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in any relevant academic background from reputed Public, Private or National University.
Experience:
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply but the experience of 1 year in project management and implementation, specifically in the development sector will be prioritized.
- Any relevant internship experience will also be taken into consideration.
- Volunteer experience and extracurricular activities are highly prioritized.
- Passion for community development and youth empowerment.
Skills and other competencies:
- Good negotiation, planning, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong writing and reporting skills (clear, concise, and responsible communication suited to the interlocutor) in English and Bangla.
- Ability to work under high pressure in unstable and frequently changing contexts
- Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to effectively interact with all levels of staff and partners
- Familiarity with Safeguarding is essential.
